ENDSARS: Pastor Adeboye speaks on SARS and Police Brutality

In a tweet yesterday (Oct 14), the Nigerian pastor and internationally renowned evangelist, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, talked about police brutality in Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has lent his voice to the country 's continuing police violence.

The problem of police brutality is one that has troubled Nigeria for a number of years now, but for all these years, people have suffered in the expectation that reform will be made soon.

The rise in extrajudicial killings, kidnapping, robbery and other vices allegedly committed by police officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has been troubling in recent years, and concerned citizens have protested the threat.

Many churches have issued statements expressing unity and support for the cause, and the Church has been portrayed at protest venues by some individuals and organisations.

The latest of these is Pastor Adeboye, whose tweet revealed the cause 's unity. He said in the tweet:

Our daughters will not be able to prophesy and young men will not see visions if we don’t keep them alive. I support the youths in this peaceful protest as they “speak up” to #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSARS #ENDSWAT
