I remembered the first time i was given an African walnut to eat by my Dad,the first question i asked was,
* What is this and what would i gain if i should eat it.

Everyone is ready to eat any fruit if they can only know the usefulness and benefit it does to the body.

Today,i want to specially deal with AFRICAN WALNUTS BENEFITS. Feel free to ask questions, contribute or correct any mistakes using the comment section.

It has a creamy inner color and a bitter after taste. African walnut has moderate amounts of soluble carbohydrate, too.

Other phytochemicals such as flavonoid and tannins, however, were observed in trace amounts, while the walnut samples did not detect hydrogen cyanide and terpenoid.

The protective effects of flavonoids are known to include anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, antiviral, and anti-carcinogenic properties.

"The presence of Tannins in the walnut sample indicates it could be used in medicine to treat haemorrhoids and varicose ulcers."

Alkaloids are the most important plant material that is therapeutically used as analgesic, antimicrobial and bacterial properties."This may be the reason why walnut is thought to avoid asthma (not acute asthma) and also a constipation remedy for elderly people.

The results also suggested that the high saponin concentration in the walnut samples suggests that walnut has a cytotoxic effect.

Walnuts are rich in compounds such as omega 3 active fatty acids that reduce the hardening of the arteries, prevent arratic heart rhythms and keep them flexible. Walnuts also contain relatively high levels of L-arginine, an essential amino acid that is converted into nitric oxide, a chemical that helps to maintain the Inner wals of blood vessels smooth and allows blood vessels to relax.

4) ANTI-AGEING BENEFITS: There are several antioxidants in African walnuts, such as vitamin E, melatonin, manganese, selenium, ellagic acid and about 16 different polyphenols. All of these components are known to avoid cellular damage; consequently they help to reduce age-related diseases.
