On Wednesday, November 27, Melaye again approached INEC with another request, urging the commission to proceed on his petition and not to begin preparing for an additional vote.

Candidate for the People's Democratic Party(PDP) asked INEC to postpone the exercise, claiming that in the upcoming rerun, the electoral umpire did not include some of the polling units canceled during November 16.

It was confirmed that there was no INEC national commissioner present to receive the petition from Melaye, but the petition was received by a senior officer in the committee chairman's office, Jafaru Leko.

However, reports claims that Dino Melaye was prevented by the security operatives on wednesday(27th November 2019) from entering INEC headquaters in Abuja.
